Town of Taos
In the town of Taos, you will find lots of history, artsy shops and artsy things to do and see. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is spectacular. I love going to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs which is 1 hour away. Take your lift ticket and they give you a discount too. Enjoy art, tourism, golfing, museums, Ojo Calente Mineral hot springs, Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, John Dunn Bridge, rafting and kayaking and hot air ballooning.

Food & Drink

Restaurants in the Town of Taos:

At the stop light, as you turned onto the road going to the ski area, there is a great Italian restaurant on the right (East) called Pizzano’s. Very healthy ingredients. Back toward town Orlando’s, on the West side of the highway about 2 miles past the stop light heading towards Taos, serves excellent New Mexican food. Taos Diner is my go to breakfast place for New Mexican menu, they have grass fed beef. Gutiz and the farm house are also have very good and have a healthy breakfast.

Restaurants in the Taos Ski Valley:

8-10 Walk from the condo to all the restaurants at the base. The Stray Dog Cantina is my favorite it has breakfast, lunch and dinner:8:00am- 9:00pm daily. Snake Dance has a great lunch menu. 192 at the Blake is really good, but more expensive (lunch and dinner only). The Pizza Shack has good pizza and they will deliver too. The Bavarian has a shuttle that will pick you up at the condo; they have great German cuisine; you need reservations. The St Bernard has an awesome 7 course French style dinner; you will need reservation well in advance (holidays weeks’ book now).

Arroyo Seco

In Arroyo Seco, the last quaint little town where there the road narrows and there is a 90 degree turn to the right then another 90 degree turn to your left. I love the Taos Cow Café (has good coffee and ice cream as well as sandwiches) and ACEQ is upscale healthy dining. You will find excellent “fine-dining” at the Sabrosso just west of Arroyo Seco and to the north of the highway.

Personal Chef/ Catering:

Terrabite Kitchen brings customized dining experience, “to your home away from home,” here at the St Moritz Condos. Call 575-779-4158 or visit

Groceries & Supplies

Purchase all groceries and supplies before you come up to the St Moritz at the Ski Valley; it’s 20 miles from the Taos Civic Plaza.

In the Town of Taos:

Cid’s (an organic grocery), and Smith’s has the best vegetables and a good organic food selection too. Taos also has a Walmart, Big 5 sporting, Auto part stores (they carry chains if you need them.)

Bumps Market – Taos Ski Valley:

Located in the resort center at the Snakedance Condominium complex, Bumps Market stocks grocery items, vegetables and meats, basic pharmaceutical supplies, snacks, drinks, beer, wine, liquor and tobacco products. Bumps Burrito Bar – made to order breakfast burritos and several other to-go selections.

Bumps Market also carries cans of oxygen which really helps with altitude sickness symptoms.
