Restaurants in the Town of Taos:
At the stop light, as you turned onto the road going to the ski area, there is a great Italian restaurant on the right (East) called Pizzano’s. Very healthy ingredients. Back toward town Orlando’s, on the West side of the highway about 2 miles past the stop light heading towards Taos, serves excellent New Mexican food. Taos Diner is my go to breakfast place for New Mexican menu, they have grass fed beef. Gutiz and the farm house are also have very good and have a healthy breakfast.
Restaurants in the Taos Ski Valley:
8-10 Walk from the condo to all the restaurants at the base. The Stray Dog Cantina is my favorite it has breakfast, lunch and dinner:8:00am- 9:00pm daily. Snake Dance has a great lunch menu. 192 at the Blake is really good, but more expensive (lunch and dinner only). The Pizza Shack has good pizza and they will deliver too. The Bavarian has a shuttle that will pick you up at the condo; they have great German cuisine; you need reservations. The St Bernard has an awesome 7 course French style dinner; you will need reservation well in advance (holidays weeks’ book now).
Arroyo Seco
In Arroyo Seco, the last quaint little town where there the road narrows and there is a 90 degree turn to the right then another 90 degree turn to your left. I love the Taos Cow Café (has good coffee and ice cream as well as sandwiches) and ACEQ is upscale healthy dining. You will find excellent “fine-dining” at the Sabrosso just west of Arroyo Seco and to the north of the highway.
